An Iconic Multifunctional Building in Its Simplicity

For the social cooperative "Il Gabbiano Onlus" in Capiago Intimiano, our construction company renovated the former headquarters of the Guardia di Finanza to transform it into a multifunctional space designed to serve vulnerable people, including those with disabilities, and their families. The multi-level structure was designed to ensure accessibility and create inclusive spaces for people with both temporary and permanent disabilities, including areas for psycho-motor and rehabilitative activities, gyms, permanent accommodations for residents, communal spaces, and a café with a view of the large adjacent municipal park.

The project, designed by architect Giuseppe Montorfano, features a sober yet non-trivial design—functional and welcoming—while adhering to modern accessibility and sustainability standards. The result is a versatile structure that promotes social inclusion and the well-being of its users.

Our construction company oversaw every phase of the project, from construction to the realization of the spaces, ensuring a high standard of quality and efficiency. The building was designed to seamlessly integrate into the local context while addressing the specific needs of the association and its users.
